The 2020 Christmas Edition

FROM THE COMMITTEE

Dear Members,

What a year!

So much has happened and we are all living the new normal (whatever shape that takes) and I’m sure we are all looking forward to 2021 with hope and anticipation – it already has a sense of excitement about it as we look forward to learning more about the much talked about vaccine.

Not that it was ALL bad – we are blessed that we live in WA and most certainly in our little corner of the world, we have the beautiful Canning River, we learnt more about our local community and how much good there is, locally and in the world. I think we all had our moments of quiet reflection and found out that the really important things in life don’t have a $ sign attached to them but involved a smile and hug and the voice of a loved one.

The RRSRA would like to wish you all a very happy Christmas and much joy and good health in 2021.

Welcome to our new members:

RRSRA CURRENT ISSUES:
While we are winding down for Christmas the RRSRA is still chipping away at a couple of issues and keeping our eye on some others. We will continue to work on:

  • We are alarmed at the recent proposal for a 10% contribution scheme for properties being subdivided and will be requesting more information at Council.
  • The proposed development on the Shelley Beach Foreshore has gone very quiet for now but we  are keeping our eye on the actions of Council.
  • The Association fully supports any improvements to the local playgrounds and to progress the proposed upgrades to a more appropriate timeline.
  • Supporting not for profit Associations to obtain reduced or free rent from Council owned properties.

RRSRA – FIRST BUNNINGS SAUSAGE SIZZLE EVER!.

6TH DECEMBER – WILLETON BUNNINGS

JOIN US FOR BREAKFAST – OR LUNCH – OR JUST A SNACK – COME AND SAY HELLO!!

The committee assures me they are dab hands at a barbie – so we will be putting it to the test!

The RRSRA is very keen to grow it’s membership and let our residents know we are here and what we do and what better way than be part of the Bunnings Sausage sizzle brigade.

Funds raised on the day will also go towards the Associations running costs.

If there is anyone who would like to come down and help on the day your assistance would be greatly received or just come and say hello.

If you want any other information contact secretary@rrsra.org.au
